We hardly find an ox cart that sell ceramic kitchen utensils in most of the cities in South East Asia, however if you are lucky enough you still be able to see it in Phnom Penh. This ox cart passed by my house once in a blue moon. This is something special about Phnom Penh that we will not able to experience in cities like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or the Philippines.
The ox cart is from Kampong Chhnang. It is the province the famous of making ceramic products. The seller travelled around 120km and this may take then 4-5 hours to arrive. How much they can earn from the trip? Perhaps USD50-100, however it is better than unemployed or being a thief.
As global warming is the current hot topic of the world leaders, should they consider ox cart as one of our transportation to reduce carbon emission?
